Here at Forster Dean we undertake all types of Private Client matters to ensure you and your loved ones can manage your affairs in circumstances when you may not be able to alone, including Lasting Power of Attorneys and Deputyship Applications to the Court of Protection.

Whilst so many of us think we don’t or may not need such help, it is a sad fact that we cannot predict what illnesses we may suffer in the future, when and how that may impact upon our ability to cope.

Having the foresight to act now to provide your authority to others to assist you when that might happen will inevitably help avoid stress and anxiety, but more significantly sometime huge expense.

At Forster Dean we can advise on the appropriate action to take, whether via Lasting Powers of Attorney, for Property & Financial issues and/or Health & Welfare. Or when sometimes regrettably it is too late to do so, submit Applications, including Expedited one, to have loved ones appointed as Deputies by order of the Court to then take over the conduct of a loved ones affairs to ensure they get the help and protection they need.

When a gentleman who had sadly lost capacity was facing huge bills for his care and also the prospect of being moved to somewhere his family didn’t want him to go, we were able to identify family members and submit timely Applications to the Court of Protection, for their appointment as his Deputies. At the same time we were then able to then reassure the Home he was in that this would result in the family being able to access his Accounts and ensure payments would be made and continually so, thereby confirming that he stayed where he was.
